COLOUR THEORY COMPOSITIONS 2014

Slide 1

COLOUR THEORY COMPOSITIONS are a proposed series of light based sculptures that were initially inspired by my visit to Rudolf Steiner's gradient coloured stairwell in the Goetheanum building – Basel, Switzerland. The work is an investigation into the dynamics of colour and light; from Goethe's theory of colour and perception, to colour psychology, colour symbolism, colour composition and finally colour in relation to art, luxury goods and the greater System of Objects.

These glowing tetrahedral light compositions are design to appear as though they are hovering just adjacent from the wall. Each artwork consists off a combination of facetted anodised aluminium nodes and LED illuminated 600mm long coloured polycarbonate tubes.
